“Wow,” I though to myself.
I then turned to the bottle and looked at it. Clear as crystal. No color at all.
I took a small taste. Whoa! It tasted just like sea-salt ice cream! Mmmmmh. I closed my eyes. When I opened them, I, also, was one-third my size.
“What a weird sensation,” I said to my brother, who apparently didn’t believe he was all there, looking at himself in the reflection of the bottle.
“Yeah,” he replied, completely at a loss for words.
“See? What did I tell you, hm?” said the doorknob, who now looked at least ten times his size.
“Thank you very much, sir,” I replied, smiling up at him.
“You are very welcome, dear child.”
“Oh, we have visitors, do we now?” a voice came out of nowhere, right above our heads.
I looked up to see huge, disembodied teeth floating in the air.
I gasped and looked at Kixcn, whose mouth was gapping at the ghostly grin.
“Please, now. What did you think to accomplish by scaring these children?” asked the doorknob, looking at the teeth with an aggravated expression.
“Oh, just wanted to say hi.” Said the teeth. Just then, a body materialized in front of our eyes, forming a cat body, fitting to the teeth perfectly.

“Oh, it’s a cat!” breathed Kixcn.
“It’s the ‘Cheshire cat’, to you, boy. At what might you be doing here, children?” the cat asked.
Uh oh. I had dreaded that question. But I had practiced what to say in case this ever came up.
Kixcn looked at me frantically. I cleared my throat.
“We’re here,” I explained, “as tourists. Seeing the worlds altogether had been a dream of ours since our mom told us stories of them.”
The cat and the doorknob both nodded in approval. Whew! Didn’t know were that would’ve gone if gone the wrong way.
Kixcn let out an appreciative breath.
“Well, then, don’t let us keep you.” Said the Cheshire cat.
“I’m sorry, but we don’t have much time now,” I said to the two creatures, “but we will come back another time, promise!”
“By all means,” soothed the doorknob, “I will look forward to it!”
